     Welcome to St Luke! If you are reading this, then you are already thinking about visiting St Luke and perhaps making this church a part of your life.  

     I could offer you a collection of typical tag lines popular among churches: connected, family, community, journey, faith comes alive, and on and on, in an attempt to catch your attention. Let’s face it; every church is fishing for someone like yourself. You are the ‘big fish’ that every church is looking to ‘hook.’ And once you are in the bag, you are one among many.

     At St Luke we believe you are more than just a fish to be hooked. This church is more than just a net filled with fish. Upon this ground, steeped in the mystery of the past, is a place where you can experience God as an individual within the quiet embrace of a community of faith. St Luke offers you a chance to be a part of something that is looking for a new approach, while holding onto its deep roots. We value freedom and private exploration in your devotional practice, while also respecting the structure and history of liturgy for others. We are neither contemporary nor traditional. We value community, but respect your personal independence. We are something different yet familiar. We acknowledge the importance of change, but not at the sake of losing our identity. We are like the flower that blooms each year. The blossom is different, but the plant remains the same. We offer you an open sheet of paper, a white canvas, and an open book upon which you can truly write down your personal affirmation of faith. You are more than the fish in the net.  You are the reason for the church to exist.  To allow you to experience God for yourself.  

     We are at the beginning of a new chapter in the church’s 250-year history. We are committed to finding ourselves by finding God, and we want to coach others to navigate life using God’s word. Organizations are at their most dynamic and transformative when they are forming. We want to capture the excitement and dynamic action that comes with creation. We don’t offer you an owner’s manual; we invite you to help write it. We want to believe that the best days of St Luke are not in the past, but rather the best days are ahead of us. Give us a chance.
